Accreditation
UIC’s 10-year comprehensive review and site visit by our institutional accreditor, the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), is scheduled for March 11 and 12, 2024.
The comprehensive review is an opportunity for UIC to showcase our mission, students and faculty/staff, academic programs, student support, research focus, facilities and resources, community impact and engagement, partnerships, robust processes, and exemplary outcomes as an urban, minority-serving, public research university.
Last December, under the leadership of Interim Chancellor Reyes, Acting Provost Colley, and Vice Provost Varelas, we formally kicked off the process to develop a strong, coherent, evidence-linked assurance argument in response to the five HLC criteria. All efforts are targeted at developing these materials through an inclusive, transparent, and collaborative process that highlights our culture and includes the perspectives of all campus stakeholders.
Information about the reaccreditation process can be found here.
